  • WHAT IS WOMEN'S HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY

    Women's Health is a specialist area within physiotherapy which can help with problem's such as

    • Stress incontinence
    • Urge incontinence including urgency and frequency
    • Functional Incontinence
    • Anal Incontinence - when one is unable to control wind and their bowels
    • Prolapse - cystocele, rectocele and uterine descent.

    Our physiotherapist has post graduate training in this area and is able to undertake the relevant assessment and internal examinations as required to provide the best possible treatment and care.

  • WOMEN'S HEALTH ASSESSMENT

    Your first appointment will be an initial assessment which can last up to one hour. The therapist will ask you a number of questions to find out about you and your condition, your lifestyle and other medical problems.

    An internal examination will be offered to you in order to check how your muscles are working and the quality of your soft tissues. This is entirely voluntary but is helpful to plan the most effective treatments for you in the future.  If you decide to go ahead you will be asked to give your consent for the examination and the results will be discussed with you afterwards.

  • PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT

    Women's Health problems can happen at any age, most people can benefit from simple physiotherapy treatments which can significantly improve quality of life.

    Following assessment your specialist physiotherapist will explain what she has found and you will discuss together the most appropriate treatment techniques to help your condition. This might include ;
