Where does my hip pain come from?

Hip pain:  It may be a familiar story; You have developed pain around the side of your hip and dutifully go to your GP to find out the source. The GP sends you for a x-ray and it comes back with the dreaded diagnosis of hip arthritis.

But hang on! There are many sources of hip pain and this quickish diagnosis may be wrong. Amongst the many sources, hip pain can originate from the lumbar spine, tight muscles around the pelvis as well as tendons in the hip, basically things you can’t see on an X-ray.

So why not put your mind at ease and see someone who specialises in the musculoskeletal field and see what stretches and exercises are relevant for you? There is always something you can do to alleviate symptoms, strengthen the areas that are weak or playing up and generally make it feel better!
