I am a qualified, humanistic counsellor, and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a humanistic counsellor, I believe that we have within us the abilities to live our lives well. I believe that when we can learn to trust our own inner-experience as a guide, we can begin to make choices around what is right for us and follow a more fulfilling path.
Within the context of a safe and therapeutic environment, I will encourage you to become curious about what is happening for you in the present moment, bringing together how you are in your body, your feelings and your thoughts, and guiding you to explore and express these. Although my work is primarily rooted in talking therapies, we may also be creative, including therapeutic exercises and mindfulness to facilitate experience and exploration.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients in agencies and private practice and work particularly with people experiencing loss and bereavement; trauma; depression and anxiety; relationship troubles and emotional absence;work and career; as well as transitions, life-stages and ageing.
I have completed counselling training at several institutions including the University of Brighton and the University of Chichester. I am a trained bereavement counsellor and am ASIST trained (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). I am currently undergoing training as a relationship couples counsellor.
