I qualified with Honours as a physiotherapist from Brunel University in 1997 and then spent many years working in the NHS and private sector. This gave me a great deal of experience and confidence in the treatment of post surgical and fracture clients, sports injuries, neck and back pain and with the ante natal and post natal population. As well as practising a wide range of manual therapies, I have been using acupuncture for the treatment of pain since 1999 and I am a member of the AACP.
I then took formal Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in 2007 and have since seen the enormous rehabilitation benefits and injury prevention that Pilates can offer to individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I believe that everybody should love and enjoy their body and I am passionate about helping you to understand and achieve this.
I teach clinical Pilates on a 1:1 basis and in small dedicated classes at the Physio Therapy Centre. I teach a range of mat based classes from beginners to advanced Pilates. I have specialist training in Pilates for children and young people, Pilates for Osteoporosis and Pilates for runners and cyclists. I also run classes in West Sussex including Pilates for older people concentrating on balance and the reduction of falls, classes for men only and teach Pilates to children in schools. I use a range of mat based equipment including rollers, balls and circles to ensure the body is continually challenged.
I regularly attend training sessions and courses throughout the year and I am committed to continual professional development.
